New Year's team event
Out of the office and off to the cross-country ski trail

Once again this year, we opted for an active celebration - this time we went to the biathlon in Oberjoch. What was completely new territory for most of us turned out to be an afternoon full of action, wobbly knees and a great sense of achievement.

From zero to one hundred: All beginnings are... wobbly!

The afternoon started straight away with a reality check: get into your equipment! Divided into two groups, the first attempts were made. While one group first had to find out how to coordinate themselves on the narrow boards during running training (spoiler: most of them had never been on cross-country skis before!), the other group learned how to hit the target despite their pulse during shooting training. After the changeover, it was clear: combining cross-country skiing and shooting is an art in itself!

The impressive thing: Although we all started from scratch, the learning progress was great. What we would hardly have thought possible at the beginning of the afternoon: There was actually a real competition on the agenda at the end!

Team challenge: our big relay showdown!

We competed against each other in teams of four in an exciting relay. The rules were sporty: run a lap, full concentration at the shooting range, land a hit - and then quickly get up again and sprint to the next team partner to high-five.

We cheered each other on and in the end we were incredibly proud of what we had learned in such a short time. Even though we weren't yet gliding over the snow like pros (the fun factor was definitely higher than the posture score!), the team spirit was palpable with every high-five. It was great fun and showed us how much we can achieve together.

A cozy finale on the alpine pasture

After this intensive afternoon, we continued on to the Erdinger Urweisse Alp. There we rounded off the day with a three-course meal. Over good food and in a cozy atmosphere, the funniest mistakes and the best hits of the day were celebrated once again - a crowning finale to this sporting day.

Strengthening team spirit and gaining new experiences.

It was particularly enriching to interact with colleagues who we rarely meet in our day-to-day work - whether due to different areas of responsibility or different locations. The shared biathlon experience and the subsequent dinner provided the perfect setting for this: Away from the daily work routine, we spent time together, got talking and created lots of fun memories in the process. Moments like these bring us together as a team and give us the right momentum for working together in the new year.

Conclusion: A successful start to an exciting year

Our winter team event at Biathlon Oberjoch was not only an active and fun day, but also showed us once again how valuable personal interaction is outside of everyday working life - it's moments like these that make our team special. 2026 still has many exciting experiences in store for us - we're looking forward to it!
